Sliding Scale
At Tend Collective, we believe that mental health care should be accessible. Our sliding scale operates on trust, mutual respect, and recognition that people’s financial situations change. Clients choosing a rate that reflects their true capacity helps ensure that reduced-cost spots remain available to others who need them.
Sliding Scale Policies
Purpose of the Sliding Scale
We offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots to increase access for clients who would otherwise be unable to afford counselling. Sliding-scale fees are based on household income and current financial need, and operate on an honour system..
Eligibility
Sliding-scale rates are available for:
Individuals without insurance benefits
People experiencing financial hardship (reduced income, job transition, caregiving burden, etc.)
Low-income households
Fee Structure
Please Contact Us for more information on the Fee Structure.
How Rates are Determined
Clients select the fee that best reflects their financial picture.
No proof of income is required.
We will revisit the fee together every 6 months or sooner if circumstances change.
Limitations
Sliding-scale spots are limited to ensure sustainability of the practice.
If all reduced-fee spots are full, clients may join a waitlist or start at a reduced but temporary transition rate.
Insurance & Benefits
If a client receives reimbursement from insurance or an EAP program, they are expected to pay the standard fee.
Cancellation Policy
Reduced-fee sessions follow the same cancellation policy as all other sessions (e.g., 24-hour notice required).
